    He didn't lose. His dad (Wes Clark) is losing.

    And yeah, he's not taking it well.

    But it's also true that the media (even the blogging media to a large extent) focus on horse race details to the exclusion of substance. Even without the clearly biased anti-Dean smear campaign, the horse race aspect of reporting hurts people who are good on the issues and have a good record.

    All attention goes to misstatements and personality flaws and process, and who would actually do a good job as president is ignored.

    That's frustrating, and it can be true even if it's also true that whining about it doesn't help or change anything.
