  •  So..... (4.00)
One of the likely 2008 GOP presidential candidates publicly admits the war is a failure.

But the prominent 2008 Democratic wannabes are all war cheerleaders, even though Bush's Titanic hit the iceberg a long f'in time ago.

Why am I getting this sinking feeling the Democrats will somehow choke away their golden opportunity in 2008?

This is how liberty dies... with thunderous applause.

It looks like the pollsters and analysts are still running the party, and we won't get any real democrats that stand for anything.

So far, every democrat that seems to have a shot at the nomination is a moral coward and supports Bush's conquest of Iraq.

Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Evan Bayh are very comfortable in their current sinecures. They make a lot of money, they get invited to the right cocktail parties, and the media fawns over them.

That the Dems have no real power doesn't bother them in the least. At a PERSONAL level, they're loving life. And as long as they properly support all Republican positions, their sinecures are not threatened.

A Democratic Party that actually functions like an opposition party is extremely threatening to them and their campaign contributions.

So they fight all attempts at reform. They see no reason to oppose the most far-right president in history, because it's personally profitable for them to just go along.

They benefit from the current situation. They want to preserve it.

The DLC hates America with a passion.

Republicans oppose abortion -- it happens eighteen years too early.
