I just don't know what the hell the leaders of this region who have been warned over and over are thinking right now.

    •  They, like many of us, are wondering (4.00)
where the National Guard is? Those local men and women who are called on during a NATIONAL emergency to do evacuation, sand bag, enforce law/order/curfews, etc.  Oh, that's right, they are deployed in Iraq, scheduled to come home next week, to what they can't imagine, since not much news is making it over to them.

Regardless of how much disaster planning an area does, when multiple city infrastructures fail completely, you're in serious sh!#.

People in this country want to put their collective fingers in their ears and sing la-la-la-la-la, rather than contemplate how vulnerable we are to a truly large scale disaster.

        Anybody have any questions?

Is there anyone in any city in this country who feels protected?  Safe?  Embraced by the knowledge that we are one, and our leaders exist to make us one at the highest levels?

Anyone who feels that the reasons people band together and form governments are being validated by this administration?

Except for Bush, the worst president we've ever had would have been all over New Orleans.

        This is becoming unbearable.
