  •  Schiavo ( was Flood) (1.25)
Hey, that's completely uncalled-for! How can you claim to care about thousands of 'the people' when you show such utter disdain for one person. Or was Schiavo somehow less than a person because her advocacy was on the wrong side of yur political spectrum?
Listen, it's ill-posed opinions like your own that are giving politcal hay to the rightwing. You could have thought a minute beofre you posted.
We should hope that 'the people' get sick and tired of Bush beofre they rush to his defence because of out of hand responses from the likes of you!

Lets worry about what the fucking wingnuts think before we pose our questions.

      •  The phrase (4.00)
"f*cking brain dead carrot" was disrepectful to Terry Schiavo.

Don't confuse Terry Schiavo with the people who ruthlessly exploited her tragic condition.

    •  Anger is righteous, but misguided. (4.00)
I agree with you that the terms used were inappropriate, but the sentiment surely isn't.  I think the offending terms merely came from a righteous anger towards a president who takes 4 days to respond to worst natural disaster in this nation's history, but is immediately available if the right wing needs him to aid in their grandstanding over the Terry Schiavo case.

These people need to know that those in power are doing everything they can for them, and cutting a 2 days out of 31 from your vacation isn't much of a sacrifice.

      •  Well said... (none)
and again representative of Bush's priorities that we have unfortunately become so accustomed to...disconnected from reality but treasuring loyalty...his actions speak for themselves
      •  That was my point.... (4.00)
I do apologize for it seeming completely insensitive to the T.S. situation.  However, without bringing all of that back again, I need to say that it was never ANY of the government's business to be involved with the T.S. ordeal.  NEVER.

Katrina is the ONLY thing the government should be dealing with right now, above and beyond.  This should come even before the personal vendetta of Iraq.  Period.

I apologize for the insensitivity.  Overall content still valid.

    •  Um, well... (none)
I think the parent poster's point was that Ms. Schiavo was in fact "less than a person" exactly because she was, in fact, less than a person (brain dead), not because her advocacy was the "wrong side of yur political spectrum."

That said, the poster wasn't showing much respect to the departed Ms. Schiavo... but the point that W was willing to cut short his beauty rest for a long-lost cause, but had to be dragged back to work kicking and screaming from his longest vacation in US history to work on saving tens of thousands of actual, living and thinking persons is perfectly valid.

    •  The wingnuts (none)
will crucify for your mere existence, let alone what you say, so FUCK THEM and FUCK THEIR RETORTS.  Haven't you learned?  If wingnuts are livid at you and chastizing you, that means your doing something right.  Bemoan the day when your enemy approves.

Re: Schiavo:  We did care about her.  That's why we wanted her to be able to die a dignified death instead of being used as a prop for soulless politicians.

      You got a 2, for self-contradiction

the original got a 3, for a great point, which could be palatable if rephrased.

    •  She was a person ... (none)
When she was alive. When the GOP was playing  political football with her corpse, though, what made her a unique person was long gone. It wasn't the left that was showing utter disdain for that one person and her wishes and slandering her husband in the bargain, it was Bush and the GOP.
