    "We simply need to be visibly and persuasively right when the opposition is wrong."

    That's true if you're a scientist doing science. Sooner or later the other scientists will notice.

    That isn't nearly enough if you're doing politics.

    If you depend on being visibly right to win elections, you're bringing a monograph to a gunfight.
