  •  It just boggles the mind (none)
that this is happening the way it is.

Ameria, where have you gone?  This is the example we set for the rest of the world?

    •  Many Americans... (4.00)
...have as a first reaction to crisis a need to protect the social system, and all of its stratifications, from forcible change.

Happily, there are many other Americans who prefer to help people in need rather than sit around hoping that the status quo won't have to change much.

It is a credit to Americans - and to Texans, who get a lot of shit - that so many people are willing to help. But, more are needed. Time to appeal to people's better angels.

      •  Yesterday (4.00)
a good samaritan here in Dallas lent his house to a family of nine.
I've been to some neighborood where more than 20 people are sharing a house with relatives from Louisiana.
How long it will stay like that ? Nobody knows but people are hanging there.

Has a ton of places and those people are about to get a ton of calls in the next few days. If you offered shelter please know that every single person I have worked with so far is amazing. Such good, warm, gracious, grateful - simply amazing people. Please do help in anyway you can.

Many told me today and yesterday that they are afraid people won't want to help because of the bad stuff we see on TV. "We aren't like that," they say over and over. These are good people who just need help getting started again.

    •  And if you think that (none)
it was not a terrorist attack with a dirty bomb as they used to say before election.
I just saw Geraldo Rivera on Fox. He was so pissed. He was hanging this poor baby, he was crying and yelling something like it was not time any more for sugar coating and political spinning.
First time ever i was on agreement with somebody at Fox. Quite a shock.
