    •  No, he has blood on his ego. (4.00)
      Weather forecast: endless blame-storming.

The Republicans had, have, and will have blood on their hands.

Nader was right: just about all politicians have cashed a fat cat's check, so financially speaking, there's some parity between career Democrats and Republicans. It's kind of what politicians do, and yep, he's no different, he took Republican money.

The difference is that Republican administrations tend to rack up bodycounts, and that information wasn't secret in 2000. The Contras, El Salvador, Panama, the Gulf war ... wind back the clock to 1953.

When Republicans get in office, people die, all over the world. It's pretty simple. And this administration is holding its end up quite rigorously.

And no one was lulled more by peace and prosperity than us. So a lot of us conveniently forgot the Republican death equation, and Nader conveniently didn't bring it up.

But pretty much all of us bear some responsibility for not trying hard enough to stop Bush in 2000.

      It's the Stupidity, Stupid!

We all screwed up. Just because Nader played a major role doesn't mean that we didn't. But, Nader syphoned off enough votes in FL to allow Bush to steal it in 2000.

      •  Not just Republicans... (4.00)
Every administration since WWII except Carter and Clinton has had a significant body count under their watch.  We on the left often gloss over the Kennedy & Johnson quagmires on the way to shedding light on Republican administrations' warmongering.  We mustn't do that.  Historical dishonesty belongs on the right, and in the pages of Orwell, whom I must say Karl must have read very closely in his youth.
