RC claims that LA state DHS kept them out.

    •  Red Cross on NPR (none)
A RC representative was on Npr's Diane Rehm show yesterday (Wed)along with a rep from the Salvation Army. The rep stated that the RC was kept out by the State level of Homeland Sercurity. I would imagine that the state level takes its order from the Federal Level, or at least follows its policies. What concerns me is, that they were careful to put the blame at the State level. I guess even RC plays the political game.

The Red Cross spokesperson was quoted as saying FEMA and DHS kept them out.  Even if DHS was a reference to the state -- which was not made clear at the time -- F-ema is federal.

Also, from your diary there appear to be a lot of politics in the Red Cross's public statements.  (That makes me very sad.)

I recall several really good diaries late last week where the writer called red cross and the state and federal agencies to discuss the fact that the red cross was being kept out.  I just looked and could not find them.  As I recall, the red cross clearly named the feds as at least one entity keeping them out.

Platitudinous speeches before friendly audiences won't calm unsettled minds. DMN

their web-site, from a link on a diary, IIRC, they stated it was FEMA on the site. Could someone, who unlike me knows what the hell they are doing, go and find that? Isn't there some kind of cache or something?
