If this were a just war and the American people really supported it, people would be signing up to fight in droves just like the Americans who clamored to sign up to defeat Hitler in WW2.

Stop using Jesus as an excuse for being a narrow-minded bigoted asshole.

How is recruitment doing these days?

I was at a festival today and I saw a very lonely Navy recruitment booth with a "Plinko"-type carnival game. You'd take a hockey puck and slide it down an incline, where it would bounce off a grid of pins and land in a random spot at the bottom. Each spot had the name of a military job.

I thought that was apt, given commander cuckoo bananas's military agenda. Join up today, spin the wheel, and find out what country you're invading. No human reasoning, no thought, no planning.

Back in mid-2002 I was out one Friday night having a few beers and an acquaintance at the bar asked me if I'd heard that we were going to invade Iraq. Of course I had been following that closely ever since Bush was elected. I told him it was insane since Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11. I told him if there was any proof at all that Saddam was behind the 9-11 attacks then I would be first in line at the recruiting station to sign up for duty. I would have lied about my age (downward) to be accepted. Of course there was no such evidence. I told him that without such evidence it was immoral to invade Iraq. He sort of agreed with me.

Tight control of the media has put this country on a dangerous course. When military action in actual defense of our country cannot be separated from opportunistic warmongering, in the general public's mind, we are in grave danger.

A pessimist sees a glass half empty. I see a paper cup with holes punched in it.
