My crazy wingnut headmistress at my high school is subbing for the Physics teacher.

She knows nothing. Equally nothing about physics.

She keeps trying to say "Look, here's God!" based on the smallest fractional view of science.

Somewhere she got it in her head that "Quantum" (no Mechanics or Physics attached, just Quantum) means that the laws of physics apply only for a little area around the earth. That our basic knowledge breaks down, "out there." Then she proposed that, for our science paper, we should discuss whether "Quantum" proves the existance of God because:

"Maybe God made a bubble where we could understand things."

Firstly, I'm pretty sure that's not what Quantum mechanics are about. Sure, Newtonian physics does break down eventually, but old ideas get replaced eventually, and we find even more accurate ways of describing the universe.

Secondly, doesn't it make more sense that we would be accustomed to our region of space, and  more comfortable with it, if we evolved here?

Gah, she makes me so mad...
