    I, like many others, will have to read it again (and again) to understand it fully.  You're using sociological and economic terms which are better understood by somebody who's just been through the four-year degree plan of a university, than by me, who's ten years out of school and forgetful.

    What I liked most about this diary is that you address the fact that all of our current energy sources are non-renewable, in other words 'extractable.'  We make nothing that produces energy.  Instead, we burn energy to extract the things we need, and burn energy to get us where we're going.

    If this society can be prevented from falling into a Dark Age, it will be because we've found sources of energy that won't run dry - like solar, hydroelectric, and bio fuels.
