    is not the same thing as chattel slavery. Being drafted into the military, for example, does not turn a person into a slave.

    Chattel slavery means that the person is considered private property in the eyes of the law - no rights, period. None. Zippo. Nada.

    This is simply not the same thing as forcing a woman to carry a pregnancy to term. The draft would probably be a better metaphor - forcing somebody into doing something dangerous for a limited time. If giving a child up for adoption is made illegal then you have a better case, but even then the bondage of the mother to the child is not the equivalent of chattel slavery because the mother retains other rights in the eyes of the law - the right to own her own property, for example. The right to petition for redress in courts, and so on.
