anyone think that Wesley Clark was running for the Presidency in '04 way back in '01.

Also Obama has just as much experience as John Edwards did and I doubt that anyone though John Edwards was going to be a serious contender back in '01.

Yes they did.  He was one of the two finalists for the VP spot in '00.  Unfortunately, we all know the choice Gore made.

    •  Of course not! (none)
Clark was a Republican until 04/03 when Rove wouldn't let him play ball.

      •  Clark was never a Republican (none)
He did vote for Reagan twice (and maybe poppa Bush), but he also voted for Clinton twice.  He was a registered independent, like 90% of the population of Arkansas, until he switched to being a Dem.
      •  He was never a Republican (4.00)
Do you care about the truth?  Do you pull stuff out of your ass like Bill O'reilly?  Maybe you're ignorant on the subject.  But why do you make this stuff up?  But you know, I've heard this before.  And I'm sure you've been corrected before.  Who's playing out Rove's playbook anyway here?

Wesley Clark registered for the first time as member of a political party in 2003 as a Democrat.  Before that, he voted for Gore.  Before that, he voted for Clinton.  Before that, he voted for Clinton.  He voted for Republicans in the '80s.  That's a shame.  But so did a lot of Democrats.  And he was never registered Republican.

anything you want about me, I never voted for Reagan.  I'm a life-long Dem (except for that experimental Perot thing).  But give me a break!  Just because he was in the closet doesn't make him less gay!  That's a lame ass excuse for a guy who voted Repub since Nixon (minus Clinton), spoke at GOP fundraisers, and stated he would have run Republican if it weren't for Rove.  He's just another warmonger, say what they want to hear politician.  Not my personal choice, but if you swing that way good for you.  That's why we're here.

          •  What the hell are you talking about? (none)
Rove rejected Clark?  WTF?  What bizzarre scenario have you imagined?  You don't think Rove would love to have another General in his pocket?  Clark rejected the Republicans.  They approached him.  He turned them down because they did not share the values he took away with him from the military.  Like Randi Rhodes says, the miltary culture is liberalism.  Your unit is only as strong as its weakest link, so you have to support everyone.  And Wesley Clark has mentioned he recognizes the "greed is good" mentality of Republicans, and he rejects that.  He says that religion teaches him that those with the most should help those with least, and the Republicans don't understand this.
