    But let me just play pundit for a moment and say that we (the dem primary voters) need to STOP playing pundit when we pick our candidates for the general election.

    I'm quite sure there were plenty of democratic primary voters that were inspired by John Kerry... I just never met any of them - the Kerry supporters I talked with before he clinched the nomination started and stopped with "he's the most electable".

    So here's an idea -- let's quit trying to pick a candidate we think the rest of America will like, and instead, focus on the one each of us individually are inspired by.

    That goes doubly for the candidates - it's time to stop treating the American public like 8 year olds.  Say what you mean, mean what you say and the public will respect that.

    Forget the focus groups and threading the middle ground needle - America will respect --- and I truly believe vote for -- a candidate that's upfront with them.

    I would be a happy left indeed if "electability" didn't come up in 2008.
