    My point was that if Person A is on the "objectionable list" and Reid would therefore vote NO, while Person B is not on the list and Reid would still vote NO, why would anyone listen to Reid's opinions to begin with if the result is still the same?  Why should the Administration attempt to even pretend to accomodate the Democrats if there is no reward for doing so?

      certain nominees would obviously be objectionable, while others would require in-depth consideration?

      I think Reid made it quite clear that his opposition is based upon the testimony and the documents, not issues he knew about in advance.
