Jeers to gutting the Endangered Species Act. Now. Today. Please phone your reps.
Jeers to this important diary falling off the reco list even as they prepare to vote. Please jump over and recommend.

Cheers to Mark Morford, getting it right, with snark, again....

learned that Bush giddily overturned decades of legal protections and opened a whopping 58 million acres of untouched national forests to developers, not to mention the happily land-raping, air-polluting processes of oil and coal and natural gas exploration? Do you think that feels a bit like having your skin peeled from your flesh with a cheese grater? Like pouring vinegar straight into your eyeballs? Like having your brain raped by a large and ignorant snail? I bet it does. I bet it feels exactly like that.

All the rest of us too...
But as you and I and all scientists and anyone paying the slightest bit of attention knows, they soon will. The worst is yet to come. Bush has enacted so many abuses on the planet, so many rollbacks and cutbacks and flip-flops and eased so many pollution controls and regulations (call it, as Rolling Stone did in a horrifying article, "a polluter's feast"), well, the global recoils, the widespread illnesses, the cancer rates, the superstorms and heat waves and irreversible ecosystem deaths, these events are merely taking a number, lining up like fatal dominos.

I'ts too wet to work. Let's buy a DVD.

    •  I called Virginia Foxx's office, and it wasn't (4.00)
easy, not just because of my virulent phone-fear, but because of her staffer's veiled Southern hostility.

Please call her if she's yours. The phone number is 202-225-2071. I'm sure she's gonna vote YES, she's redder than Tom Delay's behind, but they need to hear from us anyway.

And I'm sure the damn thing is gonna pass.

      Sigh.

The less a man knows about how sausages and laws are made, the easier it is to steal his vote and give him botulism.
