    You're right, "fair trade" is an effective and common-sense way to describe progressive trade policies; but what I think the author was after is a negative label to describe the "screw you peons, I got mine" policies that get pushed by reactionaries under the "free trade" banner. In any case, "Arbitrage" doesn't fly-- we're trying to get people to see that "free trade" only helps the already-wealthy, not send them running for the dictionary.
