    it's an absurd thing to say at all, let alone in this context.  "They turn in clumps"?  How about everybody whose roots connect them had better "turn" in a clump (that is, agree as a group to come clean and testify against other people)?

    Not only is it insipid to start going on about the aspen trees and the way they turn, but it's not like Judy lives out here... why on earth would he mention "where you vacation"?

      but I don't think Aspens turn in September - it's still pretty warm in Colorado until October.  

      "Turn" means a turn of events or loyalties - whichever makes more sense.
