    that this is the biggest issue facing the American people - it is the cornerstone of our democracy. Without voting integrity, everything else is meaningless, and at risk.

    No matter how badly Delay, Bush, Rove, Fletcher, Frist, Cheney, etc., etc., screw up, if they know that they can count on the votes come election day, there is nothing to stop them.

      It's a crisis situation here, I'm planning to diary it one of these days - we need all the help we can get, we're 50th out of 50 states in getting our act together to get new machines and be in HAVA compliance . . .
    •  Ensuring the accuracy (none)
      of vote casting and counting should be every public interest groups second issue. Legislation like HR 550 will by no means solve all the problems we face in the election process in this country but it would provide amechanism for restoring some degree of transparency in many states.
