    Keep in mind that any food product you put into storage should be hermetically sealed and shelf-stable.

    If you're still worried, one inexpensive and easy solution is to line your container with galvanized sheet metal.  If you're using a deck-box style storage container, this is pretty simple and straightforward.

    Personally, I like the idea of a solar electric fence around the storage containers.  That'll fix them danged 'coons!
