    A couple of things:

I rarely agree with George Will but his column, mentioned no Kos previously said a lot.

He has neither the inclination nor the ability to make sophisticated judgments about competing approaches to construing the Constitution. Few presidents acquire such abilities in the course of their pre-presidential careers, and this president particularly is not disposed to such reflections.

In other words, despite what merits this president may have(I'm working under the assumption everyone has some), intellectual pursuits like constitutional philsophy isn't one of them. He's not smart enough to do the job.

The other point, regarding the right reverend James Dobson, is a little irritating.

When I got married (which will be year 9 next week), a family member gave us a book on marriage by Dobson. It discussed a number of good things about how to deal with possible problems that may arise even to the point of seeing a marriage counselor before a couple gets married to work out issues that may occur before they get to that point. It was really good advice.

Over the years though, I've watched Dobson and he's turned into something vile and detestable, much like the sins he preaches against. He's a shining example of why church and state must be absolutely seperate. When churches become intertwined with government, churches are corrupted by their inherent affiliation with government. All the worst qualities of politics become readily apparent in the church. On the other hand, in a society that supposedly guarantees freedom of religion, it doesn't do to have one particular denomination with a few charismatic leaders dominate the government. Then the leaders seem to think they are chosen by God and we're back to the divine right of kings which is a yoke we tried to get rid of.

Sorry I'm a little windy there but I'm irritated at the whole thing. My only hope is maybe she's tied to Tom Delay somehow and we can sink the whole Republican battleship.

      I always wonder about that.

Did Dobson change or was he hiding it all.

I remember hearing his "focus on the family" radio spots and they were positive, like a Mormon TV commercial or something.  I appreciated that... I can find common ground with people that find their positivity in their religion, even if it's not my religion.

I wonder these days if it wasn't a "pretend to be in the middle" scam.
