  •  The schools have failed (none)
What we have is PROFFESSIONAL TEACHERS, (that cant teach)shhh, no one else knows.

Yes, teachers are teaching to the test. If I were a teacher I would teach logic and thinking skills.

Gee, this gets me agitated. My parents taught me, and I taught my kids, the same thing. An answer that does not 'pop' into your head, can usually be ascertained thru logical progression.
This is most evident in multiple guess questions and T/F. Eliminate the most obvious wrong answers then logic out whats left. But you can only do this of you have a base of real knowlege to draw from. The sad fact is, teaching to the test wont do it. But we must all remember that the educational establishment got to this point all by themselves. Educators have been failing us for more that a generation and are just begining to pay the price. In the end, Ted Kennedy's NCLB bill wont do it. The state board of education wont do it, the local school board wont do it, and the local admistration wont do it. Teachers can if given a chance to teach.

Only parents can insure a childs education. So, as a parent take control and do it.

My daughter is starting her third year in elementry ed and has come home with some terrible things she is being taught. If the new teachers coming out of college are being taught crap, guess what? This aint getten any better real quick. ( BTW) Son has 2 semesters left in engineering. He has been a perfect 4.0 since 7th grade. I do have some experience in this area.
