I propose that we legislate a ceiling on profit-taking. Say, something like 5% or 8%, and any excess profit from a business go into the general tax till. This will reduce the tax burden some, and though it doesn't appeal to the greed incentive of business people to constantly create new ideas and marketing schemes, it will inspire the non-greedy to create new ideas and marketing schemes, as the incentive is a just and comfortable society allowing many more to actualize their lives rather than having to struggle so very hard and achieve a minimal survival.
