  •  So let me get this straight.... (4.00)
The agenda of the right is:
    1. No sex education because it leads to promiscuity  (barring human nature, culture and hormones)
    2. No abortion because life is precious
    3. No funding of poor families  because poverty is the fault of the poor.
    4. No healthcare  because that should be  left to the individual, its not a human right
    5. No living wage  because the free market should determine pay
    6. Education  is for those who can afford to pay for it, free  market once again.

All of which would lead to more young  mothers with  more children, with no education, unable to earn a living wage, or provide healthcare for herself  of her children.
This is typical of the stupid, unrealistic policies that dominate the republican policy. They react to everything after it happens,  costing  the country more money and suffering in both the long and the short term. How about preventing the tradgedy in the first place. I reject the  republican argument of entitlements for the poor. An educated, healthy, well fed poor,  and middle class  benefits our  society, instead, we treat them in our emergency  rooms, house  them in jails,  and  spend our efforts trying to forget about the poor in our midst.
    •  To get a viewpoint of this life (none)
just look at old cemeteries.  You will see the gravestones of many many young women and children.  Or look at old census records and notice how men married 3, 4 or 5 times.  Their wives died in childbirth (or lack of proper healthcare) and these men had to remarry quickly to get someone to care for that brood of children.

Our... constitutional heritage rebels at the thought of giving government the power to control men's minds. Thurgood Marshall
