  •  I'm not playing (4.00)
This is a hilariously pointed diary, and I appreciate it. But I'm not playing along totally... I must say, it continues to amaze me that theists continue to push the line that atheism is itself a faith.

Bertrand Russell and others exposed and dispensed with such facile nonsense in the first part of the 20th Century, and those who keep pushing are embarrassing themselves.

Okay, back to enjoying this funny diary.

    •  Regrettably, Russell didn't have all the answers (none)
Ignorance is not the preserve of theists. I have met too many atheists who simply do not know what they are talking about. I used to be one myself. Such people have blind faith in their rationality. Now, as a mathematician, I know Russell was wrong about many things. Still a cool guy, and his heart was in the right place. But wrong.
      •  For example? (none)
Curious: What was it that you state (definitively) Russell was wrong about?

(Most people are wrong about something; that doesn't discredit the bulk of their thinking.)

I strongly recommend Sam Harris' bracing and intelligent book on the topic of the damage that religious extremists and religious moderates have done to our society...

    •  What I want to know (none)
If we're "people of faith", too, can we get ourselves some of that sweet federal "faith-based initiative" cash?
