    "WE" is a dangerous word. No living African American, but for a few who have escaped Ghana where it is still practiced, have experienced slavery.

    There are gays in the United States today who are living under laws designed to deprive them of rights, privileges and duties that no other group is being singled out for. Some of them are fighting our wars for us.

    When was the last African American thrown out of the military purely for being black?

    Sure, we can divide the issue and run back saying "this is just about marriage," but it isn't. It's about removing any and every law that creates second-class status.
