  •  Just whistling in the dark (4.00)

      Nobody knows anything.

Fitzgerald's office has run a tight ship. They're not leaking anything. That was the basis of Richard Cohen's self-serving whine-a-thon last week.

      We might get 80 indictments.

We might get no indictments at all. (Be ready.)

      But nobody KNOWS.

I will say this -- if the knew for sure they weren't going to get any indictments, the punditocracy would be much more smug and self-assured in its talk. Instead, they're in full spin mode.

They don't know what's going to happen any more than you or I do.

Republicans oppose abortion -- it happens eighteen years too early.

I am trying to prepare for the 'no indictments' scenario but I know I will feel like crap if there are no serious indictments. It will mean that people like this can get away with anything.
