  •  Ah, Travelgate (none)
This was when it became a crime to fire the Bush I staffers in the WH travel office and replace them with Clinton cronies, I believe?

I never could figure that one out.  Its especially laughable now that we see Bush appointing horse show judges to head FEMA, veterinarians to head the Women's Health Bureau at HHS, and Harriet "You're Cool" Miers to the SCOTUS.

"Our enemy is innovative and resourceful and so are we. Our enemy never stops thinking of new ways to harm us and our country, and neither do we." G.W. Bush

      •  Not true. (none)
The former head of the travel office was later tried for embezzlement in charges related to his tenure in the office; independent audits found that two separate sets of books were being kept, $18,000 couldn't be accounted for, and the office's records were in a "shambles."  Six others were fired for embezzlement, mismanagement, etc.  All were Bush appointees.

Shocking, shocking.  Does it actually SAY on your application to be a Republican whore that you have to have a criminal mentality?

        •  not on the application (none)
          merely assumed.

When you believe that aquiring and protecting wealth is more important than taking care of people, might tend to make one give in to temptation easier.
