  •  what made the scales fall from my eyes, you mean? (4.00)
    Several things come to mind:
    • being a pregnant college student and hearing Save-A-Life wasn't interested in helping me unless I threatened abortion
    • being a single parent making $4.50/hour as a government contractor with a security clearance having to attend classified meetings at the Strategic Defense Command where they spent 3 hours arguing over one word in a document, while I earned a whopping $13.50 for my trouble
    • Dan Quayle vs. Murphy Brown
    • Everything I was taught in church about the real world turned out to be a big lie and I realized it was just a means of control
    • Knowing George H.W. Bush didn't give a rat's ass about anybody but his rich, crony friends. It was all about the Good 'Ol Boy network, and now we're seeing history repeat itself, only in a worse way

read their 'pregnancy faqs'.  They left out any mention of the health risks of carrying a pregnancy to term.  They list all of the 'health risks' of an abortion including 'placenta previa' which matches the definition of 'placental abruption' not 'placenta previa'.  Placental abruption has no known risk factors from D&C, placenta previa does. I should know, since I had an apparent placental abruption.

But you know, they don't care about science.  They just care about scaring the shit out of people.  Still, it'd be nice that if they want to use facts, statistics and science, they'd care enough to get it right.

I suffered no ill effects of abortion other than PTSD, which I think was related as much to the whole pregnancy thing and the attitude of the father and trying to keep it a secret from my parents as much as the abortion itself. But during pregnancy, I suffered gestational diabetes, sciatica, pre-term labor (31 weeks), six weeks of hellish medication to halt labor, and a 70 lb. weight gain. The baby was healthy, so that's good, but pregnancy is not something I'd recommend. :)
