she's not too bad, and she's the best looking Senator (I'd imagine that might be a contentious statement).. we won't let any Republicans try and claim Mary Landrieu. :D

      •  Hate to say it (none)
but the R's can have her. The only reason she voted for the amendment is because it benefits her state. She sucks. She voted for the bankruptcy bill, the energy bill, the Iraq war, for drilling in ANWR... She's a first-order corporate whore. If she were a conservative dem representing a red state, I could understand, but she's simply a self-perpetuating fundraiser.

And btw I was one who enjoyed seeing Anderson Cooper take her down during the Katrina coverage, even though I never have liked him and I knew he was just grandstanding. She had it coming.

that she IS a conservative Dem representing a red state.

We have a grand total of 4 Dems in the entire South - 1 in Lousiana, 1 in Florida, 2 in Arkansas.  All 4 are conservative relative to the rest of the caucus.  All 4 are far better than a Republican from their states would be, and all 4 are likely the best we are going to get.

          •  That was badly worded (none)
I know she represents a red state, but she's not conservative so much as she's just pro-corporate, because that brings in fundraising dollars. My point was that her votes are not indicative of a genuine conservative ideology, merely of a desire to harvest campaign contributions.

She may be the best we're going to get, but she's not good by a long shot, and on environmental and energy issues, she is every bit as bad as any R.
