An open convention would represent real action on changing Democratic party. And despite the Republican's own woes, this party is also a part of the problem and needs to change in a highly visible, concrete way.

The right candidate in 2008 is important, and Howard Dean is doing great at the DNC. But real grassroots-based reform is an absolute must--and Cronkite's suggestion a good one.
