  •  My closest Costco is more than 50 miles away (4.00)
and I'm going to organize a monthly shopping car pool to get there.  I've been shopping Target as a way to avoid WalMart, but the more I read, the more I realize that Costco deserves my dollars.  This is the type of company I want to support.

...although for me it's only about 15 miles.

I was just faced with a choice of where to buy some new towels over the weekend.   Target had the better price, CostCo got my dollars.

    •  Just remember (4.00)
when you make the 100 mile round trip to give your money to Costco, big oil is getting some of your money too.  And maybe a big chain restaurant if you stop for lunch.

Why not just use the online pharmacy at costco.com?

      •  yes, i know... (none)
right now, I use about 10 gallons of gas a month, so I feel pretty good about my consumption in this area.  I'm lucky enough to work from home and always organize my long distance trips carefully - there's not a lot in this immediate area, but I can get out of town once or twice a month and keep to one fill-up a month.  To date, the distance to Costco has kept me at Target - now, as I said, I'll organize a monthly shopping run with a friend or 2 to get our bulk items and wrap it into other errands.  Of course, online shopping is always nice and I get our prescriptions from a local pharmacy.  But the money that I've been giving to Target each month is mostly on larger ticket or bulk items and I really want to spend it at Costco.  They treat their employees fairly, they donate to the Dems and they fill prescriptions as needed.

at Costco too.  Or Citgo if you have one.  Not perfect, but we vote with every dollar.
