  •  Can we get a little civil disobedience? (none)
All it takes is a dozen people at your local Target with signs in big fricking letters, clipboards for petitions, bullhorns for chants, picket lines, and some local media.

If that doesn't work block the damn entrances to the driveways, and make the coppers take you to jail - screw the rent-a-cops.  Any attempts by the rent-a-cops to move the demonstrators should be met with some kind resistance from a few members of the local Teamsters union.

And anyone who wants to chuck the closest inflamed trashcan into the damn front store window should be encouraged.

And these shouldn't be one-time things.  Every second the store is open there should be demonstrations.

    •  I am up for it in Central Ohio (none)
Just let me know when and where
      •  My suggestion (none)
        Three contacts to make immediately:

        1. Local NOW/NARAL/Planned Parenthood activist group - consider your local university/college campus

        2. Prominent local pro-choice advocates - a person in the trenches not an elected politician

        3. Target.com for a list of local stores

Identify a point person(s) - or you be a point person, and start getting commitments to demonstrate for an hour or more...and don't be afraid to ask the people who come up to you during the demonstration to commit to protest.  Get name, phone number, zipcode and email (for a listserv).  Always be sure to follow-up 72 hours before, and 24 hours before.

If a person ever cancels get them to make a commitment for another time.

As far as media is concerned, depending on which media market you're in it may be better to start with the major network news stations or the community papers (they're always looking to fill inches).  Any press is good press.

Targets are right around the corner from everybody.  If done right, we could have round-the-clock demonstrations a month or two from now.
