There is no excuse for any pharmacist refusing to fill any legal prescription. I think it should be the first order of business for each of us to inquire at the pharmacy where we shop and find out what their policy is. If they fill some prescriptions and not others, we have a responsibility to let the community know and to not buy anything at all from these establishments!!! In my view, this is anarchy - people putting themselves above the law. You don't want to do what a job requires, you don't hold that job! Period - end of discussion!

Or is it just held behind the counter?

Basically, I'm not following why a doctor wouldn't educate him/herself on where you can actually pick up this particular drug since it is so controversial right now.

      •  That's another controversy. (none)
It really should be OTC, but the FDA is stalling on this for no good reason. People are resigning from the FDA over this.

          Sorry -- brain fart.

If it requires a prescription, then that just adds more questions, doesn't it?

If the girl saw a doctor, why wouldn't the doctor know where in town you could get the drug?  If she could pay for a doctor, and pay for the drug at a drugstore, why couldn't she pay $70 to PP?

Was this a case of insurance only working at certain drugstores?

I'm not trying to play 'blame the victim' here, I just think the Star story is woefully incomplete.
