  •  She is more qualified than some (none)
of the justices currently sitting on the court.  I respect lawyers opinions espicially prominent ones from Texas who have had dealings with her in court.    Especially when those lawyers are Democratic donors.
She was the best nominee we could have hoped for and we let it slip away.

I can recite to you names of many previous justices in the history of the Supreme Court who were far less qualified than her.

Can you explain your basis for your opinion, your reasoning is very similar to that of someone redstate.

"I can recite to you names of many previous justices in the history of the Supreme Court who were far less qualified than her."

Until you can give examples that support your rather wild claims, your reasoning is very similar to that of someone redstate [sic] (where have I heard that before, the echo even included the mistake?). :-)

Anyway, even if you're correct, that's no reason she should have been confirmed.  "She's not as bad as some others!" isn't much of a rallying cry.

This woman had no real support from anybody except Dim Son.  And you, it would seem.

      •  We can start with the late 18th and 19th centuries (none)
        UMMMMM

Let's start with John Jay who was more interested in politics than being the first Chief Justice of the Supreme court.

        Or

William Paterson and Samuel Chase were also pretty pathetic, those were the early days.

Then you have guys who had great pedigrees like
James Clark McReynolds, who was one of the "nine old men" if you might recall.  He was qualified but a horrible justice.

        •  And Ms. Miers Would Make A Better Justice (none)
Than these men for what reason?  As I said, even if there have been incompetents on the Court previously (and there certainly have), why add another?  Particularly one who can't satisfactorily complete a questionnaire any competent prospective justice should be able to finish.

The fact that both Patrick Leahy and Arlen Specter were appalled at her inability to do this should tell you everything you need to know about her.  But then if you're going to post links to yourself(!) in support of her, it's pretty obvious there's just about no credible voice available to speak on her behalf.
