  •  Divide and conquer (4.00)
How can the American people mount an effective counter when we are so divided?
    •  History is full (none)
of effective counter strikes by very small groups. The division thing? - not as divided as the wingnuts would have you believe.

      •  Just heard (4.00)
On NPR today aa snippet of views from a Texan on Bush.
Something like, "I think he needs to get out of his bubble and get a germ, and then he can see what it's like for the country." Oh that made me laugh!

        •  Actually... (none)
Bush plans to embrace planning for the bird flu to distract us.  Sorry guys, but the bird flu looks like it may never materialize, but the "no health care flu" is sure to show up at people's door this winter.

    •  didn't work out so good in 1860 (4.00)
we might have been pretty divided in November of 1860, but by 1864, the United States was pretty much united in the belief that the slave owers had to go

guess what, we're dealing with the same assholes once again

      and soon, they gotta go

      •  But remember that (none)
there was one truly awful amount of shooting between 1860 and 1864.  More people were killed in the Civil War than in all our other wars combined from a total population of about 30MM as compared to about 300MM today.

        •  the dynamic isn't the same (none)
I just used the Civil War to illustrate a point

once we've been thru the discussion for a few years, the unchristian message kinda falls apart

as the repuglican rank and file learns that their support has been used to commit war crimes, crimes against humanity, treason, and corruption on an unprescedented scale, the rank and file will defect to the side of christian moral values

gonna get real lonely in the repuglican party

a lot lonelier than the democrats of 1868
