So Mr. President, for all its appeal, a unilateral attack, while it cannot be ruled out, on the present facts is not a good option.

Typical, trying to have it both ways.  No sale here.

        a sale.

despite what everyone thinks they know, the vote wasn't for the war.

thanks for saying again what I have said a million times: no one voted "for the war" - they voted to give the President authority to take military action provided that all other options were exhausted.

One can argue all they want that giving Bush that kind of authority is like asking him to hold the keys to daddy's liquor cabinet, and there's truth to that. But it doesn't change the fact that the resolution was not the same thing as "voting for the war."

I don't understand why people like Kerry, H. Clinton et al don't point out the distinction. Now, that is their fault.

and the entire base of the dem party doesn't want to believe it.

you can say things and if nobody wants to believe it can often seem like you never actually said it.

Say it a million times a million. A terra-lie.(10^12) "exhausted blah, blah" Take a stand, goddamn it.  The vote was for something, the biggest in their wormy careers. The calculus was war, ambition.  Kerry, Hillary, Edwards erred on the wrong side.

The dem party too. Dems eat in the same lunchroom with these neo-thugs. They should have known Cheney/Rummy/Wolfie had a hardon for Saddam. As representative in the republic they should have known these guys were blinded by war-lust.

          •  Bullshit (none)
Give a psychopath a blank check for war, and 20 times out of 10 said psychopath will go on the warpath.  Anyone who really believed that bullshit about the IRW not being a vote for war is apparently incapable of seeing the true character of Bush et. al.  And that is inexcusable.
