  •  Fight Cheney on Torture (none)
While the attention of the MSM is directed elsewhere, Cheney is pushing Congress to gut the anti-torture ammendment, proposed by John McCain and approved by the Senate 90-9.  Specifically, Cheney is seeking to add language that would allow torture if "the president determines that such operations are vital to the protection of the United States or its citizens from terrorist attack."

Please encourage your members of Congress to stand firm against such proposed changes.  Torture is not an effective method for obtaining reliable information.  Torture has traditionally been a method of choice for those who wish to force illegitimate confessions or to instill fear for the purpose of supressing dissent.  We do not make the United States stronger or safer by giving sanction to any form of torture.

I used to live in the United States of America. Now I live in a homeland.
