          peurile obscurantism. The law that Alito would have upheld only required notification of the spouse, and it contained exceptions for when the mother did not believe the child to be her husband's, or if she reasonably feared for her safety. We should remember that this was supported by Democrats and Republicans in Pennsylvania and by a Democratic Governor. Besides, there is no indication that Alito believed that the law was good policy, he just tried to apply O'Conner's vague and confusing precedent. Willfully distorting the facts of matter for cheap, misleading laughs only undermines the anti-Alito cause.
