  •  Repeal of a gas tax hike (none)
One that the gutless WA Democratic Party was unwilling to fight, so we grassrooters had to carry all the water to try and stop the repeal from passing.

I think you're a good guy and all that, but are you capable of posting on this blog without referring to the "gutless WA Democratic Party" for once?

For one thing, it isn't true. For another, most of the WA staters who post here do plenty of volunteer work for the Party, and at least one Kossack here is on the Party payroll.

The state party, the King County Democratic Central Committee, and all the District organizations, including yours, did plenty of work against 912. So you're dissing your fellow Kosaacks here. Knock it off, and now. Party work is open to all good Democrats. If you have something to offer other than on this blog, put up.

      •  The party is gutless (none)
        Who, exactly?

Whomever is responsible for their surrenderistic tactics. Most likely the high leadership. I've got nothing but praise for those who give their time and energy for the cause, but they're being sold out from above.

I mean, come on: where was the party on I-912? All the major Dems ran away from it as if it had bird flu.

Maybe I'm overreacting and being unduly harsh. But I just see the party's lack of a strong anti-912 campaign as gutless. If it passes, the Democrats will not be able to govern this state any longer.

        Just boggles my mind.

        •  Signmakers extraordinaire (none)
I have to disagree from a personal perspective. Who paid, out of their own pockets, to print signs "no on 912"?...Mary Lou Dickerson and Helen Sommers.

I personally went out with signs picked up from MLD, along with a number of comrades, and put them out.

Who doorbelled and spent District blood, sweat and tears on "No on 912"?... the local LD's.

Have you checked out the Wa-dems emails lately? With minute resources, we are all over it.

To be honest, there are a lot of dems that say "screw it", let 912 pass, and let the Eastern side of the State reap what they sew.

The gas tax was a bi-partisan effort in the legislature, and if it goes down, we will all pay the price--but mostly 'they' will.

The WA Dems led by chameleon breath Christine Gregoire are gutless wonders.

No one came out strong against I-912 and they should have.  But the gov was too busy travelling to Asia and promoting bidness as usual.  I sure hope she doesn't run for re-election.
