Gee, why oh why won't you address the central point in this issue?

Nobody's stopping anybody from smoking - as long as that doesn't affect others.

What this is all about is YOUR smoke in OUR lungs.  You thnk you have a right to force someone else to breathe smoke?

You can whine all you want about "limiting individual freedom" all you want - you shouldn't have any more freedom to force your smoke on other people than I do to make you breathe plutonium.

How utterly blind you must be.

    •  You seem to be ignoring a certain point too: (none)
"If you don't want to be around smokers, don't hang out in smoky places."

See? Easy as that. Plus, if we get to smoke inside, then you can walk on the sidewalk in pleasant non-smokeness. We're happy, you're happy (except for the fact that you know someone, somewhere, is enjoying a cigarette inside a bar), things are well.

OK, this time someone wants to ban a behavior of which you disapprove.

Who knows when the tables will be turned on you?

Again, I'm not especially dismayed and certainly not surprised this is passing. What does distress me is the perverse, almost violent pleasure you take in regulating the behavior of others. Live a little bit.
