  •  The numbers of Republicans (none)
who approve, 72%, seems awful high.
    •  Denial is not just a river in Egypt for (4.00)
Republicans. They are so tied to party and the current administration that it's like watching the Titanic sink... with all those aboard just smiling, waving, and certain it was unsinkable!

    •  Incredibly Apallingly Astounding (4.00)
In other words, fully three out of every four Americans who consider themselves a Republican STILL thinks the President is doing an excellent or a good job.

This party's membership is so completely out of touch with reality (as is its leadership) that one wonders if they actually read or watch anything which might in the smallest possible way challenge their thinking.

      Torture of Prisoners
      Use of White Phosphorous munitions
      Budget Deficits
      Military Strains
Smear and Outing of a CIA agent
      Lying to a Special Investigation
Cherry Picking Intelligence to support an unnecessary war
      Loss of support of Allies
Disastrous image of our country worldwide
      Soaring Balance of Payments Deficit
      Job Losses
      Rape of the Environment
Failed attempts to gut Social Security
      Terry Schaivo debacle
      Party electoral losses
      Pandering to religious extremists

Add your own.....and STILL 3 of every 4 Republican supporters think their President is doing an excellent or good job.

      Simply and completely unbelievable!!!!!

      •  The power of rationalization / denial (none)
Goes to show you just how far right the rethugs have drifted doesn't it. Atleast it now appears all of the loose wingnuts are in one basket.
Unfortunately, for the rest of us Bu$h and his merry band don't give a flying fart for what the other 64% think or feel.

      •  scary stuff (4.00)
This should be a lesson to us all that political movements can brainwash their true believers such that facts no longer mean anything.  It's obvious that Bush's administration has worked long and hard to insulate its supporters from other points of view:

the members-only campaign events, the villifying of the opposition as unpatriotic, the potent use of ridicule and against Gore, Daschle, Kerry, Dean, anyone who stood up to them, the way they kicked people out of events for having anti-war bumper stickers on their car, the pledging allegiance to George W. Bush at events in Florida during the 2004 campaign, the whole one-sided style of 'discussion' you get on FOX... this is how mass movements can create an alternate reality.

These techniques can be used to truly frightening and despicable effect, and we should be mindful of that.  This poll number among Republicans makes me worried.

      •  nah, they just watch Faux news (none)
My grandmother in Alabama says she only watches Fox News because they're the only ones reporting the TRUTH.

It's been in the eighties or nineties for his entire presidency.
