    Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am outraged over Bill O'Reilly's recent remarks advocating an Al Queda attack on San Francisco. While I fully endorse freedom of speech, it does have limits and Bill O'Reilly's remark is over the top. We live in a democracy where voters are allowed to determine the laws of their cities, states and country. I strongly supported the city initiative to ban recruiting in the San Francisco schools. I am the mother of a 23-year-old son. When he was in high school, we had recruiters calling us every night. You see, recruiters on his high school campus had especially chosen him as a target. This 6'5" hunk of a young man was viewed as excellent cannon fodder. All kinds of incentives were offered to him which he thankfully declined. Otherwise, I may have ended up in the position Cindy Sheehan now faces, living with the grief of a fallen son who was sent to Iraq under false pretenses.

So, now that I have voted to save other parents and kids from this fate, Bill O'Reilly thinks that my son and I deserve to die in a terrorist attack? At the very least, O'Reilly owes us an apology. At best, she should be off the air, permanently.

    Sincerely,

    Patricia A. Jennings, M.Ed., Ph.D.
