    •  Speaking for myself... (4.00)
It was fantastic. I took the "working on a campaign" track and it confirmed a lot of what I had learned organizing for Dean here in Minnesoata.
I've heard great things about the "candidate" track. Several friends took that track and won election this month.

Was excellent for several reasons! i was at the Raleigh session Nov 11-13.

      1. Networking: I got to meet a HUGE number of progressive leaders in both the political and non-profit realm in my state of North Carolina. Candidates, Organizers, foot soldiers and democracy warriors alike attended, learned, built relationships, and shared visions over mohitos at the bar later on. :)

      2. Inspiration: Not only was it incredible to be surrounded by like minded active people (you have to remember I live in rural NC, and a chance like this is rare :) ) but the speakers, the programs, and the Wellstone message was terriffic, educational, and inspirational.

      3. Winning formula: It gives a specific step by step plan of how to work the grassroots. We all share the ideal of wanting to work the grassroots,  but it doesnt just happen with no work and no plan. And now I know how to do that.

It was just a terriffic experience, and along the way I caught some fantastic flamenco dancing at a sweet tapas resteraunt, and got to see a video montage of Paul Wellstone working/speaking/preaching/leading/whatever he did that made him Reverand Wellstone.

      Holy Cow!!!

I didnt vote in 2002. I didnt care about politics. I didnt know who Paul Wellstone was. Now i do, and watching him was probably the single most memorable thing of the entire weekend, and this was a 5 minute video clip. I can't imagine seeing him in person. I finished watching it and I was like WHAT?!?! AND WE GET RICHARD BURR?!?!?!!????

      Camp Wellstone HIGHLY HIGHLY reccommended!
