  •  Marcinkowski's a DINO (none)
Ex-CIA Agent to Challenge Rogers. Jim Marcinkowski will challenge U.S. Representative Mike Rogers (R-Brighton).

Jim Marcinkowski gave to many Republicans including Mike Cox and the Chimp himself. I don't believe he's given to any democrats. How would he represent me, a Democrat of almost 61 years?

While Marcinkowski and I both hate the Chimp, being a democrat consists of more than being against the chimp and his clone Mike Rogers.

Is this the best we can do? I hope Dianne Byrum jumps in and gives it another shot.

    •  GOP legislators sank Byrum in 2000 (none)
The GOP, which never misses a chance to disenfranchise voters, passed a law that requires people to vote at the address that appears on their driver's license. The biggest targets of that law are the poor, the young, and the mobile--who are most likely to vote for a Democrat.

Byrum lost to Mike Rogers by a handful of votes in 2000. I believe the new law made a difference.

      •  Chimp clone Mike actually wrote the law (none)
I remember that. It was big news in the Lansing State Journal when it passed.

That law was written by the chimp clone himself and signed by John Engler. In order for college students to vote in Ann Arbor or East Lansing, they needed to use that as their permanent address. When my kids were at MSU, they used my address so they could be on my Blue Cross insurance. They voted in East Lansing however since that was their home.

Under today's law, they would all have to vote absentee, and if they don't vote in person in a primary or local race, they are screwed unless they have a car, and they are willing to drive all the way home, and usually outside the district.

This still pisses me off. I really thought we won that despite the law in 2000. Byrum's a good lady, and is one of the few democrats who has won my republican area. She deserved better.
