give the white house a break was a very shiny cover on that report....very shiny....shiney enough to dazzle the fencesitters into not really bothering to look inside.

the bush strategy for victory is to cover a whole lot of warmed over old crap with a very shiny new cover...

its still crap but its got a very shiny cover...isnt that really all team bush needs to keep this war going?

Did you hear that? That was the sound of Democracy stirring. Ever so far, ever so faint, oh so sweet.

    •  IMO, the very fact that this (4.00)
"major policy address on Iraq" is the umpteenth of its kind since "Mission Accomplished" AND once again contains nothing new must mean

      1. the BushCo hawks are pleased with Iraqi status quo, have worked against political winds to achieve it, and are heavily invested in preserving it, and

      2. what appears to everyone else as a morass is actually is serving to keep the US in Iraq and in control of its oil for what BushCo must think are acceptable casualty and pricetag levels.

The military must really be growing bitter as they realize their primary mission since their arrival in Baghdad has been to take steady casualties.
