  •  Hell yeah (4.00)
That's why he can win.  He has a McCain-like ability to be very liberal (very conservative in McCain's case) 90% of the time, yet be his own man when he believes it is neccessary and go against his party leadership and conventional wisdom when he thinks it is the right thing to do-which impresses indies tremendously.  And if you have the indies in your corner, you win.

Liberals are crying over his Roberts vote. I also hear complaints about his comment "if someone is trying to kill you, you don't try and figure them out, you stop them" when discussing Al Queda. That does not worry me one bit and I am stuanchly anti-war. I love that he did not support the bombing of Sebia, this guy is right-on. Perhaps his biggest selling point with average folks will be the small gesture of not taking a Senate pay raise when everyone else does; he gives his back to pay down the national debt. Democratic leaders don't like him because of McCain-Feingold, it robbed them of their beloved soft-money. And he ain't no puppet of the Isreali lobby. This guy is what the country needs. He will need strong grass-roots support, because the party is not going to promote him. Out here in Oregon, Dems love him.

Commerce with all nations, alliance with none, should be our motto. ~Thomas Jefferson
