  •  Where's the fundraiser? (none)
Is it open to regular folks? I'd make a small donation to go in and cheer Murtha. Any idea who else might be there?
    •  Event is set for this Friday..... (4.00)
      Representative Ed Markey is hosting.

Story does not list the location of the event. However, reference is made to a Tuesday Globe story and a post on the DCCC site. Cyndi Roy of Massachusetts Democrats is quoted in the story.

Apparently this is a high-priced event. The cited Globe story says that invitations were asking for donors to give or raise $30,000 for the Texas campaign.

Murtha had already been planning a visit to a cancer center in Boston named after the late Rep. Joe Moakley. Murtha has been active in his/our district promoting initiatives aimed at cancer research.

We look forward to hearing your vision, so we can more better do our job.

      •  Thanks for the detailed info (none)
Incidentally, I actually met Moakley and Markey at the Capitol, obviously years ago. It was with a group called the Science Coalition, which advocates for continued funding of basic scientific research.

Well, I definitely don't have $30K lying around, so maybe I'll hunt down the Moakley cancer center, or see if I can sneak in.
