  •  you misunderstand me (none)
I don't particularly want the "establishment" to wage a war on the "grassroots" either.

Frankly, I'm just not that interested in any of this. I want to win. If that means building up grassroots candidates, so be it. If it means DC stepping in and dictating things, so be it.

Grassroots v the establishment is just something that I've never cared a whole lot about.

I'm just in it for the pizza money.

    •  We've been doing it their way for a long time (none)
It's been 11 years since we had a majority in the House. Maybe it's time to try something different, no?

    •  I do not care for it (none)
either, but I do believe personal opinions should be set aside when assessing candidates.  and i do not believe one wins in the long term if they impose a candidate from without.  fine, duckworth is in for one term, just as bean is in for one term.  cegelis, if elected, would more likely RETAIN the seat, which in my opinion is more important.
    •  You might care if (4.00)
you busted but to bring the Democratic party alive in your district, reconstituting it, bringing people out and getting the active, working hard for a candidate that has a shot to win, digging in and doing the hard work of getting your message out and building a campaign - almost all by volunteers - only to be told "We'll take over now, we know best. We'll run our candidate and make sure money funnels her way so if you could just step out of the way, that would be great. Even better, why not forget the candidate who made this a winnable district and come volunteer for ours."

If you experienced that, as those in IL-06 have, you might suddenly care about conflicts between the Dem machine and the grassroots.
