    weren't there during the parades that I marched in this summer with Christine when all along the parade route people shouted out, "Go Christine" and "You'll win this time" and "I voted for you."  I was actually pretty amazed by the experience.

    And her "useless" volunteer operation gathered 3,817 signatures, which was 1,076 more than her well-funded Republican opponent, Peter Roskam, who has the entire DuPage Republican Party behind him.  And I can speak from experience that those signatures were gathered door-to-door, which means that 3,817 people had personal contact with a Cegelis canvasser.  (And remember that that only about 36,000 people voted in the 2004 Dem Primary -- and it was a contested primary -- so this is a significant percent of likely primary voters.)
